A Devastating Easter Weekend
On the Saturday afternoon of Easter weekend, a devastating three-alarm fire tore through a beloved Catholic church in Queens, NY. The blaze destroyed the 7-room religious education building, the sanctuary for the altar, and the roof, leaving extensive smoke and water damage in its wake. Over 140 firefighters from 33 FDNY units and local volunteer fire departments battled the inferno for close to 90 minutes, working tirelessly to contain the flames and extinguish the blaze.

TRI's Swift and Dedicated Recovery
In the immediate aftermath, once firefighters had secured the scene and engineers confirmed the building's safety, TRI experts sprang into action. Their dedicated team began emergency restoration that evening, working straight through until the afternoon of Easter Sunday. The first priority was to secure the property, using tarps and plywood to protect exposed areas and boarding up all windows in preparation for the monumental project ahead.
Over the next five weeks, a team of 15-20 TRI experts meticulously worked to restore the church. Recognizing the high ceilings, they first constructed scaffolding to facilitate their work. Every cosmetic finishing, including sheetrock, insulation, and the wood and tile floors, was carefully removed. The TRI team then thoroughly cleaned and sanitized all remaining framing, encapsulating it with an odor paint primer to ensure no residual odor remained.

We understand that a fire can be devastating, especially in a community setting like a church. TRI specialists are here to help navigate the challenging process of cleaning up damage.
